1.Where
do your herbs come from? |
| ans: |
All
our herbs and herbal products come directly imported
from India. We have our own offices in Delhi,
Mumbai, and Haryana that are sourcing the highest
quality products for our main distribution center
in Berkeley, California. Our herbs come ONLY from
India, not from other surrounding countries that
offer cheaper alternatives. Make sure you are
buying herbs straight from the source where Ayurveda
was born!
|
| |
|
 |
2.
Are your herbs irradiated when they come into the
U.S.? |
| ans: |
No.
Contrary to popular belief, all herbs from India
are NOT irradiated, including ours. Because of
our high quality packing techniques and cleaning
procedures, there is not need for the authoritiesto
irradiate our herbs. However, not all companies
maintain such high level of quality control and
it is smart to ask. |
| |
|
 |
3.
Are your herbs organic? |
| ans: |
All
of our herbs are organically grown. They are "wildcrafted"
and are grown in their natural state without any
pesticide spraying whatsoever. They are the purest,
most natural, form of the herb you can buy. |
| |
|
 |
4.
What quality control do you perform to insure your
herbs are safe? |
| ans: |
Before
each batch of herbs or herbal products is shipped
from India, the product must go through a rigorous
safety test before it is exported to the U.S.
Among the tests performed are: heavy metal count,
bacteria count, e-coli test, salmonella test,
mildew and mold count, insect residue test, moisture
levels, and others. These tests are very expensive
to perform and that is why not all companies perform
this level of quality control. They simply "trust"
that the herbs are safe and hope for the best.
For our safety and the safety of our customers
we don't intend on gambling with your health and
that is why we have maintained an unprecedented
level of quality for the past 33 years. |
| |
|
 |
5.
Why are your herbs and herbal products different
from others? |
| ans: |
Quality,
value, and consistency. It is not easy to stay
in the herb business since 1971 if you don't hold
these three values highly. That has been our focus
and motto since our opening 33 years ago and we
intend on remaining the leader in this field by
offering quality products, at a high value, while
maintaining consistency and reliability in the
herbs year after year after year.

6.
Some herbs have different but similar spellings.
Why? |
| ans: |
Depending
on the region of India you are from, there are
sometimes slight differences and variations in
spellings of some herbs. Also, sometimes for convenience
sake and ease of pronunciation, the difficult
letters are replaced with ones that are easier
to pronounce. That is why,as a second method of
verifying, we will sometimes ask the Latin or
botanical name of the herb to make sure you are
indeed ordering the correct product. |
| |
|
 |
7.
I can't find a particular product on your website
and I know it's available in India. Can you order
it for me? |
| ans: |
No.
Unfortunately it takes years for import licenses
to get approved and we can only import products
we have licenses for. Also, since we have our
own quality control department in India, we would
not be able to verify the quality and consistency
of a third party product, and therefore put our
reputation at risk. We would suggest writing to
the manufacturer of your product directly in India
and ask them the best way to order it. |

8.
Your formulas are in EXTRACTS. Why? |
| ans: |
Extracts
are essentially the core active ingredients of
any herb. Essentially it is the part of the herb
or plant that is doing all the work. Extracts
simply arness that ingredient and capsulate it
and the end result is a higher potency capsule
while not having to take so many capsules. You
are guaranteed to see results in weeks, not months
(the way you would if taking a raw powdered herb). |
| |
|
 |
9.
The color of my herb changed slightly from my last
order. Why? |
| ans: |
This
is normal. Depending on the time of year, the
farmers that we collected from, the potency of
the crop, the grinding technique used, and the
cleaning process used….these would all affect
the slight change in color or even flavor of the
herb. This is completely normal and is expected
when dealing with raw, natural plants and herbs.
